I’ve always been intrigued by the Kiehl’s brand. Their marketing and packaging appeals to my love of the “corner store Apothecary”, plus they make amazing products for horses! Did you know that? We learn something new everyday, right?

The new Kiehl’s Sunflower Color Preserving hair line includes a Deep Recovery Pak, a shampoo, and a conditioner. The entire line is sulfate, silicone and paraben-free. To be honest, I really don’t mind parabens in my hair or skin care (but that’s another article entirely… the whole paraben issue is really a bunch of misunderstood whooey, but I’ll write that up soon enough.). However, I do seek out sulfate-free shampoos since they typically help my hair color last much longer!

As you can see from my photo, I used up every drop of the Sunflower Color Preserving shampoo; the conditioner bottle is empty too! I have plenty of the Deep Recovery Pak left since I only deep conditioner once or twice a week. I loved the whole line! It has a light, fresh fragrance; and was incredibly gentle to my hair. My hair color lasted the typical length of time when I use sulfate-free products.

The Kiehl’s Sunflower line is a bit pricey: the Shampoo runs $18 for 8.4 oz bottle, the Conditioner is a buck more at $19 for a 6.8 oz tube, and the Deep Recovery Pak conditioner is $26 for a large 8 ounce tub. The entire line is available at most Nordstrom’s and online at Kiehls.com. If you have a larger budget, and really want to care for your colored hair- this line should be perfect for you! If you’re on a budget, then I still stand by my favorite drugstore L’Oreal EverPure Sulfate-free hair products.
