Eco-friendly Samsung Restore Available Starting June 6

The much awaited Samsung Restore will finally be available at Sprint stores starting June 6 for $49.99. This price is after a $50 mail-in rebate and comes with a 2-year contract as well.

Just in case you forgot, the Samsung Restore is another eco-friendly mobile phone from Samsung. Among the features that this Samsung phone brings include a a sliding QWERTY keyboard, Energy Star 2.0-compliant charger, 2 megapixel camera, and microSD card expansion all the way up to 32 GB.

The phone's casing is also made from 24% post-consumer recycled plastic and 84 percent of the entire handset is made from recyclable materials. The device is available in the colors “midnight” and “limeade,” and is sure to appeal to texting-addicted teens and those who are looking to help out the environment.

Teddy Kurniawan has come up with a neat concept, a Lifecycle Recycling Center concept that should help address proper waste management and segregation. While we all know that segregating our trash and then properly disposing them has been called upon, the new recycling center concept may just work.

Though it seems like the typical color coded trash bins we see in the streets today, the unique concept was created to maximize the utilization of recycle program in the city. It comprises of various waste bins each for different types of wastes.

A single bin or two or more can be placed in areas where space is a concern. What is more, the different colors as well as icons on every waste bin help people in sorting out various types of trash.

Japanese Get 100 KM on a Single Charge

The Japan Electric Vehicle Club has yet made another Guinness record by establishing a new distance for an electric car on a single charge. Using a modified MIRA EV that was powered by a Sanyo battery system, they were able to achieve a record 1,003.184 km (623 miles).

Running at a speed of about 40 km/h (25 mph), the team employed 17 people taking turns as drivers during the course of their 27.5 hour effort. It took place at a track in Shimotsuma, in Ibaraki Prefecture.
