Bionic Asks: Your thoughts on men wearing makeup?

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 06:21 AM PDT

Bionic Beauty Asks - Makeup and beauty question blog article series

Society has long set a precedent that only women wear makeup. But times, they are a-changing. There are nail polish lines for guys, top coats to give that matte “no polish” look (Orly’s Nails for Males), and new “men-only” skin care lines being released each month. It’s now accepted for men to color their hair, go to the salon for cuts and styling, and some guys even indulge in manicures and pedicures.

There are certain guys that can definitely pull off the “Yes I’m most definitely wearing makeup” look. Captain Jack Sparrow looked incredibly hot in eyeliner, and Agent Michael Vaughn rocked the look in Alias. Heck, those two look better in makeup than I do (at least in my opinion, ha ha!)!!

And whether the the NFL Football fan population wants to admit it or not, all those lovely NFL anchors wear makeup too. Sometimes it’s quite obvious actually. In this day and age with HD TV, it seems some makeup artists haven’t quite mastered the no-makeup-man-makeup look yet.

This week's Bionic Asks… What are your thoughts on guys wearing makeup? Should it be just be for men on TV or in the movies? Or can an everyday-Joe share our long-beloved concealers and powders?

For my male readers out there (I know there are more than a few) – what do you think of guys wearing makeup? After all, everyone needs to cover a huge, red pimple now and then, right?
