| Swatches: China Glaze Cosmic glitter polishes Posted: 27 Mar 2010 07:29 AM PDT This collection has been out for some time, but a friend recently handed hers over to me. You’ll find out why in my final comments below… Preppy Pink – Bubblegum pink with various sizes of glitter. Applies translucent at first, but bottle color in 2 coats. China Glaze in Preppy Pink Bad Kitty – Watermelon hot pink with multi-colored colored, mostly of consistent size. Jelly base. China Glaze in Bad Kitty Carnival Lights – Light lavender with small silver dust shimmer and a variety of larger sized glitter flecks. In the sun this is truly gorgeous- it throws rainbows and bling everywhere! My favorite of the collection even though I’m not usually a pastel fan. It’s also amazing under a matte top coat! China Glaze in Carnival Lights
China Glaze in Atlantis Meteor Shower – A deep navy with mostly cool toned glitter and some orange and gold accents. 2 coats is plenty as this is very pigmented. China Glaze in Meteor Shower Cosmic – This is a black jelly base. In the bottle it looks gorgeous- glitter of every color of the rainbow. However, when I applied it to my nails, the only bling factor was silver. In the sunshine, you saw a bit more of the other colors, but still nothing compared to how it looked in the bottle. China Glaze in Cosmic It reminded me of asphalt tar. It’s a very thick formula as well, making it not the best choice if you aren’t darn good at working with glitter polishes. As with all glitter polishes, you definitely need to apply a base coat to ease removal when you take it off. And don’t forget a good thick top coat since glitter polishes feel very rough to the touch until sealed up with something like Seche Vite. However, even with the base and top coat, these polishes are a pain-in-da-patootie to remove!! And hence, the reason my friend handed them off to me. Granted some of them are pretty, but I’d rather just use a regular polish topped with a slightly glittery top coat, than to use a cotton ball per finger to get the polish off!
