Is luxury nail polish worth it? Bionic tests Dior Vernis

This was my first time trying a Christian Dior cosmetics product. It’s normally pretty far out of my reach (especially in this economy), but I really wanted to review the brand on Bionic Beauty to get the word out about how the Dior brand performs.

Dior Vernis nail polish in Silver Purple

In the picture above, I am wearing Dior Vernis nail polish in Silver Purple.
The bottle itself is very luxe with slightly rounded corners and a polished silver-tone cap. However, the cap broke off the first time I unscrewed it. Now I’ve just this ugly little black screen top showing, but oh well. I’ll make do, since that’s definitely not too big of an issue.

The application went very smoothly. There was no cuticle drag or nail tip heaviness; and the frosted shimmer applies evenly and without streaks. However, the very blunt, square-ended brush was difficult to work with. Since it was such a straight line, it made not getting polish on my cuticles and edges a very difficult task.

The pigmentation is great. I am wearing two coats in the photograph above and it’s not transparent at all! A few weeks later, I went back to use this polish again. Unfortunately, the little “underneath” black cap stuck fast to the polish bottle (even thought I was storing it upright).

With that out of the way, I enjoyed this color, but the formula and bottle did not impress me nearly as much as Rescue Beauty Lounge, OPI or China Glaze.
