GO GREEN FITNESS

This piece of news may not necessarily be something extra ordinary but is certainly something that many would agree to be a green alternative. Backed up by GO GREEN FITNESS, there is no better place to solicit energy outside that from human powered ones or through pedal power. And considering that the growing number of people are quite concerned about their health, at least they are doing something to address the power problem by producing renewable energy from cycling classes made of about 20 bikes.

Each class has the potential of producing 3.6 Megawatts of renewable energy per year which should be a big boost to the energy needs our world needs today. This is equivalent to the amount of power used to light 72 homes for a month while also reducing carbon emissions by over 5,000 pounds. Check out the video below so you can see how this thing works.

Thermal Activated Roof Tiles

Here is something that many home owners should consider. Much of the electricity costs we have to deal with is connected to temperature needs of a home. And normally, roof tiles would be assigned one color only that of which is black most of the time. But thanks to some MIT students, a new kind of thermal activated roof tile which changes their color based on temperature.

In their white state, the tiles reflect about 80 percent of the sunlight falling on them, while when black they reflect only about 30 percent.” This would translate into about a 20 percent saving on cooling costs in the summer.

The only thing holding this back is funding. It's a neat idea but the thing is they need to be commercialized to really gain some headway to the consumer market.
