| The Eco-friendly HERSELF Dress Posted: 18 Jan 2011 10:43 AM PST ![]() This is one dress that seems to have questionable intent but the bottom-line is that it is eco-friendly. This is with reference to a project called "HERSELF", something from the London College of Fashion, University of Sheffield, and the University of Ulster. The dress is reportedly sprayed with concrete mixture that can absorb pollutants and is one of many prototypes included in the Catalytic Clothing project of the said institutions. Apparently the dress was made with the intention to help clean out our polluted air but the thing is, would a person wear it and bear the consequences of absorbing all those pollutants? | Posted: 17 Jan 2011 09:38 PM PST Looking for some natural lighting in your home? Well here is one for you. Using the principals of reflection, Igland Designs offers the Pure Sunlight which reflects rays of the sun through your windows and around the room. No batteries needed and the design is powered using natural means. To adjust the mirror, simply twist the knobs on the Pure Sunlight's sides, adjusting it to the sun's rays. Of course, though it was not mentioned, it seems that this design would only be great for the daytime. Then again, at least you know you can curb down some costs during the daytime which should mean incremental savings on your next electric bill. Need Green Web Hosting? | Posted: 17 Jan 2011 09:37 PM PST Evan Solida offers another potential concept bike called the Rael Concept Bike. Great for outdoor recreation and provide a cool alternative towards the call for non-carbon emission solutions, the bike was designed in a way making a regular carbon-fiber road-bike safer to ride. The bike needs no mirrors and riders don't need to crane their neck to look behind them. It even comes with a camera, a blackbox of sorts, to make sure that in cases of untoward accidents, footage will be properly captured. Brakes and handlebars have been redesigned stepping away from conformist designs and sporting Shimano's Di2 electronic-shifters. With that said, this should be one safe and great transport alternative that can adhere to green and safety needs a person would ever consider. Need Green Web Hosting?
