Fuel Generated from Solar Energy Using Plants Posted: 01 Jan 2011 06:20 AM PST ![]() Here is another eco-friendly concept for you. With the rising prices of fuel as well as the scarce state they are now in, here is a concept devised by researchers from the U.S. and Switzerland. They have come up with a machine that functions like plants, harnessing solar energy to produce fuels that can be used at a later time. The eco-concept device makes use of the rays of the sun and a metal oxide called ceria to break down carbon dioxide or water into fuels that can be stored or transported. The machine still leaves a lot of room for improvement though where the efficiency rates can be boosted to 19 percent by making some more improvements. Need Green Web Hosting?
