Health and the level of safe water that we consume has become critical nowadays. And while we console ourselves through the safe bottled plastic waters, here is an invention that some geeks over at the Pacific Northwest-based University that should be sensible to use.

They attached parts of a keyboard to the side of a plastic bottle and made use of SODIS (Solar Water Disinfection) to make sure that the water is safe to drink. Apparetnly, the device would measure how much light the bottle is being exposed to and blinks when it detects particles in the water.

This is actually a DIY idea from the group which reportedly costs $3.4 to make. Not bad and the idea should be something to consider especially for people who are always out in the wild.

The device is charged using solar energy and should be a cool alternative to help minimize the need to use ink (with reference to paper-based print ads). Other than an ad spot, it can be used as a lighting solution of sorts making it a cool solution to consider using. The Public Poster certainly promises to be a new medium for the consumer market and the people aching to get more publicity for their businesses.
