| LG Mobile Phones to Make use of Eco-Magnesium in 2012 Posted: 06 Dec 2010 09:15 AM PST  LG may be up to something more eco-friendly once 2012 comes. Known for having offered various eco-friendly handsets in the past, LG has announced that they will be making use of Eco-Magnesium alloys by 2012. These new eco-friendly alloys were developed by the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology. Its main benefit is eliminating the emission of sulfur hexafluoride (SF6), which is believed to be an incredibly damaging greenhouse gas. The initiative will contribute to the growing problem of greenhouse gas emissions, not to mention a new phone that should capture the ire of techies and people going agog over new mobile handsets. Hazman Malik's 'The Green Cab' was designed to contribute to the environment's fresh and clean initiatives, not to mention reduce the dreaded carbon emissions. These Green Cabs are electric-powered and were meant to be used as simple tourist vehicles. They feature onboard electric batteries which can be recharged using solar and kinetic energy. | Pope Benedict Seeking Solar Powered Upgrade for his Ride? Posted: 05 Dec 2010 08:11 PM PST  It looks like Pope Benedict is looking for an upgrade, one of the eco-friendly/ solar-powered kind. The upgrade is a wish from the Pope for his armored Mercedes Benz or better known as the Popemobile. Already bullet-proof, the Pope has expressed his desire for the Benz pickup he uses on official visits and public appearances to go electric with photovoltaic cells on the roof for solar-charging. Actually, Pope Benedict has been seeking some solar-powered solutions to date. This includes the likes of solar panels on the Vatican roof and a solar-powered air conditioning system for the cafeteria. Et al, the goal is to go solar power, or something of that sort.
