Eco-friendly Firewood Anyone?

Posted: 04 Dec 2010 12:49 PM PST

Fireplaces are expected to be used so much this Holiday season and apparently some eco-friendly issues will be raised. However, this may not hold true for the Green Logs which are eco-friendly alternatives to the usual firewood we normally have to use to keep warm.

Green Logs can be used just like regular starter logs and have a reported burn-life of five hours, with a heat output similar to wood log. Green Logs are a first product and the place where we can touch consumers directly. Giant King Grass can be burned in power plants to generate clean electricity and can be used to produce nonfood cellulosic biofuels.

They will not see the light of day in a landfill.

Hemp Christmas Hat For the Ladies by Earth Divas

Posted: 03 Dec 2010 07:03 PM PST

This is the perfect hat for the cool and long Christmas nights ahead. Created by “Earth Divas” they do a good job at bringing both the useful and the pleasant in one place.

It’s handmade and feels special. It’s 7″ wide by 4″ deep, unique and not mass produced like most others. The fabric is airy and breathable, and the hat is held in position by an adjustable thin metal wire. A thin and tiny cotton lining band can be seen around the base of the hat, but it’s well camouflaged and doesn’t cover the entire hat. It also comes in a wide variety of colors.

This hemp cotton wire brim hat is not only great looking but eco friendly as well.
