No Cash? No Problem, Salvation Army Kettles Now Take Credit

Posted: 01 Dec 2010 11:11 AM PST

If you’re anything like me, you barely ever have cash on hand. Instead your mighty bank debit card is what you normally use.

The bank debit card is great for any and all purchases where a credit card is allowed, including the local grocer, dry cleaners, car wash, flower shop and Salvation Army red kettle. Yes, as of this year the Salvation Army has made it possible to use a credit card for donations. Surely you’ve seen the red kettle and big bell near a Walmart or Target as some sweet soul volunteers into the wee hours of the night (in the freezing cold) to accept your goodwill.

If next time around, you’re out of cash. No problem, because the Salvation Army accepts credit.

Posted: 01 Dec 2010 10:20 AM PST

Here is another electric powered solution for the happy hopping shoppers or consumer. Especially for the people who have a problem on carrying their items, the Kompakt should be a cool solution for you.

It runs on electricity via batteries which should ease the burden of carrying heavy stuff or overloaded ones when you go out to spend like crazy. The Kompakt was actually designed by Jake Loniak, developing a cargo contraption on four-wheels, that'll move around your stuff according to your needs.

This machine was meant to help act as a mobile shopping bag or aid. It is not meant to be a means of transportation so don't even think about trying it.

Posted: 30 Nov 2010 09:00 PM PST

With the use of moisture evaporators, here is a concept which should address water collection concerns. The Swater Concept makes use of sunlight to collect clean distilled water through condensation which builds up inside the device.

It features a solar panel at the top, allowing it to gather the energy needed to run the electrical heating tube and disinfecting light. This is one device which brings you back to Star Wars fame, machines which were placed in the movie. With that in mind, the Swater Concept should get the approval of the Star War fans as well.
