Bra Recycling Program in Africa

Old clothes are recycled in a way for the needy but this time, Africa has something interesting. Brasseries are normally the last thing you would include in your old stuff to be given away but with the Berlei Bra Recycle Program, you now have an alternative to dispose of them properly.

The program aims to give less privileged women in Africa the opportunity to own something that has long been out of their reach, a bra. Also, the Breast Cancer Network of Australia (BCNA) will receive $1 for every 10 bras that are recycled.

These donated bras will be recycled and given to women in Africa for very reasonable prices. A strange way of recycling but definitely something sensible.

Solar Powered Media Player from Sony (Unofficial)

Unofficially, Sony unveils another media player concept, this time carrying some eco-friendly intent as it makes use of solar energy to juice it up. It is called the Eclipse and comes with a solar panel at the back together with integrated speakers and a touchscreen for viewing some video content.

It can be connected to a PC or mobile phone using Bluetooth and also comes with a holder that ejects like an old cassette player. It is a concept and is not legally tied up with Sony for now.

New York Jets Install Solar Panels for Training Facility

The New York Jets are aiming to do their own little thing to be more eco-friendly. 3,000 solar panels have been installed on their rooftop which will help juice up their training facility.

With the new solar power panels, the New York Jets training facility now generates a whopping 120,000 square footage of solar-producing energy. Also, the it is now capable of generating 750,000KWh of electricity per year.

New York Jets Install Solar Panels for Training Facility

Scrap Metal Eco-Friendly Bikes

Recycling and turning trash into something useful is an art and that is what best describes these Scrap Metal Eco Bikes. Purdue Student Tony Coiro was able to do this, converting his old 1978 Suzuki motorcycle into a completely eco-efficient piece where he spent about $2,500 to redesign his bike.

The transformed bike can go 24 miles per charge and gain a top speed of 45MPH with the aid of solar power.
