Military Goes Green with the SKYDEX Mattress Posted: 22 Sep 2010 10:56 PM PDT With a 100% recyclable mattress installed, SKYDEX Technologies has developed a modular mattress system to address the current issues with mattress durability and life-cycle costs that face the U.S. Army. 240 mattresses were installed at Ft. Benning on June 28th. The mattress design utilizes four separate components: a nylon/cotton cover made of the same material as the current ACU for ease of washing, a comfort layer of reticulated polyurethane, a SKYDEX thermoplastic layer for durability and pressure distribution and a polystyrene lift riser which was a custom component for Ft. InventHelp Aims to Make Recycling Easier Posted: 22 Sep 2010 10:54 PM PDT A modified way of recycling and making it a easy way of organizing garbage and recycling rubbish will be presented by InventHelp, possibly providing a more convenient way of handling trash. While the unit includes two removable liners, one for conventional garbage and one for recycling, it would also save a user from having to go outdoors in order to toss out recycling. According to the inventor, additionally it would promote responsible garbage and recycling habits for everyone. This device would consist of a rectangular modified trash receptacle with a lid that covers the top opening that would include a handle on the front. The interior of the receptacle would hold two removable, open-topped liners; one liner would be used for trash and the other for recycling.
