Saab is now working on its first electric vehicle called the ePower. This new vehicle takes its body from a familiar 9-3 SportCombi station wagon and boasts of a 135kW/184 hp electric motor which delivers a projected range of 124 miles and makes zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.5 seconds on the way to a top speed of 150 km/h (93 mph).

A prototype of the Saab ePower Station Wagon will be on hand at the 2010 Paris Motor Show. A compact 35.5 kWh lithium-ion battery pack, which provides a projected range of around 200km (124 miles), is accommodated in a modified floor-pan, mainly in space within the car's wheelbase previously occupied by the exhaust system and fuel tank.

Energysport Recharges Gadgets with Pedal Power!

There are various chargers we see to date but this one apparently takes the cake. This time around, we have the Energysport, a device designed by Filipe Lima which requires user to pedal their bike to juice up their gadgets.

This is another one of those dual-purpose gadgets where you can exercise and produce power simultaneously. The device simply needs to be attached to the wheel of a bike and then start pedaling. Once the bike is in motion, the Energysport will start harnessing the kinetic energy and convert it into usable electricity.
