Bionic Asks: What was your biggest makeup oops?

Posted: 28 Jul 2010 08:32 PM PDT

Bionic Beauty Asks - Makeup and beauty question blog article series

This week's Bionic Asks
Thinking back on your life, or even the recent past, what was your biggest makeup faux-paux? We’ve all had them, just like bad hair days.

Mine was during high school- my first big dance to big exact. During regular school days I rarely wore makeup. A bit of mascara and lip gloss was my normal routine. However, I wanted something more dramatic for this event and decided to play up my eyes. I ended up with eyeliner rimming my upper and lower lash line; deep blue shadow across my lid and into the crease, and bright sparkly white shadow across my brow bone. I looked like a total raccoon. Looking back, the only things that really prevented me from looking totally crazy was that my glasses hid some of the effect and I thankfully didn’t slather on a deep lipstick.

Since then, I’ve taught myself and taken makeup artist classes. I wish I’d had the knowledge back then, but I actually remember that makeup look fondly. It stands out, it was silly, and I don’t regret it at all.

And now it’s your turn. Step out there a bit and share your humorous “makeup oops” moment!
