Qtel Launches Discarded Consumer Electronics Recycling Project Posted: 15 Jun 2010 12:45 AM PDT Qtel of Qatar has launched a new recycling drive targeting discarded mobile phones, batteries and accessories in line with the national policy of "green disposal" of potentially hazardous heavy metals. Corrugated drop boxes will be placed at all Qtel shops for people to deposit old and discarded electronic devices. What's more, customers who properly discard their electronic waste will be entered into a raffle for attractive prizes including BlackBerry and other Smartphones and Qtel services. Qtel's new e-Waste Recycling Programme addresses this need by providing an immediate and convenient disposal and recycling service that will keep Qatar clear of communications contaminants. Caltron LED Backlit Open Frame Monitors Launched Posted: 14 Jun 2010 10:43 PM PDT Carlton Industries has just launched their new line of eco-friendly open frame monitors that feature backlight LED technology. They are available in touch screen and regular versions. One model is the LBT-10420 monitor that comes with features like inputs that include a composite video, DVI, BNC, and S-Video. The monitors are available in two different touch-screen models–LBT-1042OTEASU that features a surface acoustic wave touch screen, and LBT-1042OTEAR that features a 5-wire resistive touch screen. The LBT-1042O monitors are available for OEM and standalone usage. The other model is the FBT-1042 monitors. They provide 74% more brightness as well as longer life spans.
