Lite On Mobile Lamp LED Bulb Never Runs out of Power

Lite On provides another keen lighting solution, something maybe even better than the usual LED light bulbs we have been seeing lately. These new Lite On mobile lamp LED bulbs actually come with batteries and are good for use up to two hours after cutting off power.

To switch the bulb on or off you simply touch the copper part while something conductive makes contact with the metal part on the bottom. These Lite On bulbs are expected to come out some time this year and should be another economical solution for people wanting to cut down energy consumption.

Nokero unveils the world's first solar lightbulb, designed for regions where electricity is scarce and inconsistent. The Nokero N100 solar powered light bulb boasts of a rainproof impact resistant enclosure and on a full charge can provide up to 4 hours of light.

A days exposure to the sun will provide a full two hours of light. The N100 solar powered light bulb uses five LEDs and a nickel metal hydride battery with a life of approximately 2 years before it needs to be replaced. They retail for $6 each.

Algae power has been hitting the web on and off but perhaps here is one that can entice you. This time, we have an algae-powered lamp, a lighting solution that runs only on sunlight, water and your breath.

It is better known as the Latro (or Latin for thief) and consists of a conical jar with a spout and a cross between a handle and a built-in straw at the top. Water is added through the spout, CO2 is added by breathing through the handle, sunlight enters from all sides and everything is in place to harvest energy from the algae.
