| The Electree Enters Production Posted: 01 Jun 2010 12:48 PM PDT ![]() The Electree originally started out as a concept but now it looks like this concept will become a reality. The Electree was a concept whipped up by Vivien Muller some years ago where a small family-fun company has reportedly taken the task of manufacturing it. The Electree comes with a total of 42 cells where all the energy harvested will be kept in an onboard battery. The battery can feed power to mobile devices via USB connectivity where only 20 units will be made initially. Need Green Web Hosting? Check out our latest review of green web hosts. | Dell Unveils the Bio Friendly Froot Posted: 31 May 2010 06:22 PM PDT ![]() Imagine a computer without a monitor and keyboard. Seems impossible right? Well now with Dell's new bio friendly froot. Though still a concept, the Froot makes use of laser technology to create a computer monitor of sorts, a keyboard and a mouse for any flat surface. This is a new lightweight solution which may yet replace the common laptops we see people are relying on today. These Froots are made of starch-based polymer with a biodegradable skin. The electronic components are also recycled and they are available in a variety of colors (purple, orange, blue, green and violet). The Froot will run on a Windows XP OS and incorporates some Regeneration Green Computing Technology. Need Green Web Hosting? Check out our latest review of green web hosts. | Electric Car Goes Around London Twice on One Charge Posted: 31 May 2010 06:20 PM PDT ![]() Electric cars have been known to run on a limited extent on a full charge but here is one car that was able to go around London twice through a single charge. Students made use of a specially modified electric SRZERO supercar and completed two laps around the M25 motorway during the early hours on Friday morning. The car went a total of 250 miles or 400 kms, and could be a new discovery that could address the limitations that electric cars normally provide. Built on a Radical Sportscars SR8 chassis and using two lightweight motors designed and built by an Imperial spinout company – EVO Electrics, the 1100 kg SRZERO boasts the specs to back up its “electric supercar” label: a top speed of 200kmh, 0-100 kmh in 7s, a full charge in 6 hours and a 200 mile / 400+ km range.
