Wind Farm Can Produce 1K Megawatts by 2020 Posted: 24 May 2010 10:25 PM PDT Wind power from wind turbines such as this one from the Lake Erie Energy Development Corp will certainly be welcome in most cases and if their forecast holds true to its word, a backup or resolution to the growing energy problems we have these days may yet be resolved. To date they have wind turbines which can generate 20 megawatts of power off the coast of Ohio by late 2012. The direct drive wind turbines, each generating four megawatts of power, will be supplied and maintained by General Electric, who designed them especially for off-shore use. Subsequent projects are also in the works by the dynamic duo, with the eventual goal of 1,000 megawatts by 2020.
