| Rented Eco friendly Moving Boxes from ZippGo, Smart or Waste of Money? Posted: 18 May 2010 11:17 AM PDT Is this consumer idea smart or a waste of money? You decide. ZippGo is a new company that creates and rents out eco friendly moving boxes. For a one bedroom you get 25 boxes at the cost of $119. Let me tell you about the boxes, they’re made from recycled plastic and delivered via a truck that runs on bio-diesel. The boxes are big, sturdy and good for approximately 400 uses, before ZippGo recycles them. They currently only service parts of San Francisco, with plans to expand in Chicago, New York and Boston by 2011. I’m just wondering how cost effective this idea is for would be cash strapped movers in the long run? Since one can so easily make a trip to a local Target (or other similar retail outfit) and purchase eco friendly boxes at a much lower cost. Not sure on this one, what do you think?
