Musicians can now do their part of being eco-friendly and going green with bamboo-based musical instruments. Yamaha has employed a new kind of manufacturing process which incorporates bamboo's sonic and ecological benefits into Western musical instruments.

Yamaha's patented method makes the most of the material's natural strength and warp resistance. The process uses three- to five-year-old Bamboo plants which are about 6 inches in diameter. The wood is sawn into strips, bonded longitudinally, and then laminated in layers perpendicular to one another for rigidity.

Kumho unveils the first batch of a series of eco-friendly tires for the U.S. market with the release of the Solus HM. They are formulated to have less impact on the environment while delivering exceptional performance.

These new tires are made from high anti-abrasion rubber compounding technology and eco-friendly processing oils. The premium all-season tire is available in 23 T speed-rated sizes to fit small sedans through minivans.

E. Gluck Corporation unveils some eco-friendly timepieces in time for Earth Day 2010 called the Sprout Watches. These timepieces are made of 86% sustainable materials, packaging that is 100% recyclable and is an official sponsor of earthday.net.

The Sprout Watches have cases and buckles made from corn resin, straps made from certified organic cotton, dials constructed from bamboo and even the battery is mercury-free.

Eco-Friendly Sprout Watches for Earth Day 2010

New Pedego Electric Bikes for Earth Day

The 40th anniversary of Earth Day will be on April 22 and Pedego and Big Wheel Bikes are unveiling a new eco-friendly electric bike for the occasion. Pedego Electric Bicycles function as ordinary pedal bikes, but at a touch of the throttle, their zero-emission motors silently kick in to enable riders surmount even steep hills. The bikes can go up to 30 miles at speeds up to 20 MPH on one four-hour charge.

One Pedego model, the Umbrella Folding Bike compresses in one second to be small enough to fit in a compact car trunk, to store in a closet, or take on Metro.
