The first posthumous Alexander McQueen book goes on sale
Celebs get naked for Cancer Research UKLiz McLarnon for Cancer Research UK Its a known fact that once the temperature in the UK rises, we get really excited and act like if London is Cancun or Ibiza. Everyone is heading for the beach or the nearest patch of grass and stripping off thor clothes. TK Maxx has followed suit, and asked celebrities and models strip down to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and encourage the public to strip their wardrobes bare too.The campaign, aptly named Give Up Clothes for Good was launched by Cancer Research UK and retailer TK Maxx. The campaign imagery was shot by Jason Bell. It is a nationwide clothing collection to raise valuable funds to help beat childhood cancers. The campaign runs from 5th-25th April. Bruno Tonioli from Strictly Come Dancing Judge said "I really enjoyed taking part in this shoot and was glad to Give Up Clothes for Good to help Cancer Research UK beat childhood cancer. I hope everyone else feels the same and I encourage the nation to open up those closets; reach for those hidden marvels, and donate your fabulous items of clothing and homeware to TK Maxx stores." Kate Walsh by Jason Bell for Give Up Clothes for Good Special free donation bags are available in TK Maxx stores, however all bags are welcome from bin bags to supersize carrier bags. Each filled bag could be worth up to £30 to Cancer Research UK. The first book on the life of late fashion designer, Alexander McQueen will go on sale May 7th. Knowing the British appetite for biographies and commemorative books this definitely wont be the last book about McQueen. Alexander McQueen, Genius of a Generation, was written by fashion journalist Kristin Knox. The book contains 128 pages and documents McQueens life from his beginnings in East London to his final days as he prepared his Auntumn WInter 2010 collection.
