Base Brands Join 1% for the Planet Green Charity

There are a lot of causes out there but here is one that focuses on green charities. Called the 1% for the Planet Green Charity, the cause has a new green company to join the cause with Base Brands. Base Brands is a maker of reduced eco-friendly kitchen and housewares and will join the cause where they will be donating 1% of their sales to green charities.

With close to 2000 charitable organizations to choose from, 1% FTP was developed as a way for companies to support smaller environmental non-profits, those that are often not the focus of corporate giving.

Christmas Trees Recycled in Chicago

From Christmas Trees to Mulch. That is what Matt Lederer of Mahogany Builders intends to preach as he collects old trees from the past Christmas season and plans to deliver them to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum by January 8. The move by Lederer hopes to help Chicago become a greener city, a great way to welcome 2010 the eco-friendly way.
