| Recycled Plastic Bottle Fabric Bags from Eden Posted: 15 Dec 2009 08:51 PM PST ![]() Eden takes into consideration the amount of plastic bottles which have been adding problems to our waste problems by recycling and turning them into something useful; recycled tote bags. They first collect and send the used plastic bottles to community recycling centers which are sorted by color, type and stripped of their labels. After all that, they are washed, crushed and chopped into small flakes which are then melted and forced through a nozzle similar to a shower head to create the fiber. The fiber is crimped to add body and stretched for strength. This yarn is then ready to be processed into fabric. These totes collapse, fold and roll making it possible to always have one at hand ready for any use. (Source) Press Need Green Web Hosting? Check out our latest review of green web hosts. Looking for eco friendly diapers? Sure, you’ve probably heard of gDiapers and other more well known brands that have been around longer. But bet you haven’t heard of SmartiPants. This is a Gardena, California based company that creates one-size-fits-all reusable cloth diapers, free of chemicals and other irritants. Each one is meant to last you quite a while and essentially they come with sleeves or inserts which you toss in the washer soiled and it magically removes the sleeve or insert and after you get a fresh clean diaper. The SmartiPants cloth diapers come in single packs for less than $15, or you can get a 3 pack for less than $40.
