The idea came about when college students Nikhil and Alejandro heard in business class how some people in Africa take coffee grounds and use them to make mushrooms. They noticed a potential business idea and took it from there. Now they’re both on their way to creating a name for themselves in the specialty mushroom category. Natural foods grocery company Whole Foods has picked up on their story and several locations now carry the coffee ground powered mushrooms.
