gDiapers is already doing their part in addressing the waste problem by providing biodegradable diapers for babies and it is going a notch further by partnering with GreenShipping.com to send their products to their customers the green way. This move aims to further lower the carbon footprint of shipping, a niche that makes GreenShipping.com the perfect ally for such a cause.

To accomplish carbon-neutrality for gDiapers, GreenShipping's automated service calculates the carbon footprint of each shipment by examining the weight, traveled distance and mode of transportation. GreenShipping then purchases on behalf of gDiapers an equal amount of offsets from the Bonneville Environmental Foundation (BEF).

Low Cost Solar Energy Come to Bay Area

The Bay Area is in for a treat as Real Good Solar has signed a large multi-site contract to design and install 790 kW DC of solar electricity in four separate low cost housing communities. The project is backed by PV Systems which makes it possible for local residents to make use of solar power which should bring down electricity rates and bringing more power in the process.

This multi-million dollar investment is expected to generate 1,090,311 kWhrs (1.1 MWhrs) of electricity for the residents of these communities, ensuring lower electricity rates for years to come. California's new Virtual Net Metering tariff will allow the electricity and cost savings to be shared among the resident families as well as the common areas, a first for California.
