Bionic for the Cure – Pink for October

Posted: 01 Oct 2009 09:01 AM PDT

Bionic Beauty supports National Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. In honor of this event and to show support, Bionic Beauty is going pink for the month.

The blog’s color scheme is changing to various shades of pink, and I’ll be featuring for skin, hair, and makeup products are supporting Breast Cancer charities. If you’ll be shopping for cosmetics this month, please have a look around for items sporting the pink ribbon. Every little bit helps!

In addition to the product features, I’ll be announcing an exclusive charity auction shortly!

And if you’ve been holding off on ordering a Bionic Beauty T shirt or tank top… now’s the time. I am donating 100% of my proceeds from sales of pink Bionic Beauty shirts to the Save the Ta-Tas foundation!

If you won’t be shopping, there are plenty of other ways to show your support for Breast Cancer. Here are some ideas to get you started…

  • Wear something pink.
  • Give yourself a cute pink manicure or pedicure, and for an extra spin, add a simple white ribbon overtop.
  • Update your MySpace, Facebook, Twitter statuses to show your support.
  • Add a pink ribbon or a statement showing your support to your email signature (you can email me if you’d like a copy of my Bionic for the Cure ribbon).
  • If you’re a blogger or webmaster, add a pink ribbon to your website. You can get lots of cute image options from the NBCAM.org website.

Do you have any tips to help show support for Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA)? Will you be participating in any events in your area?

Color Club’s Master of Disguise halloween polishes

Posted: 01 Oct 2009 05:01 AM PDT

I love Halloween. For me there’s Halloween and 364 other days in the year. And when Halloween combines with cosmetics- it becomes pure enjoyment. Color Club’s new Master of Disguise nail polish collection takes the classic Halloween colors of white, purple, orange and black and adds a spin. The collection is 4 mini bottles that are perfect for mixing and matching nail looks all through October.

Abracadabra is my favorite of this collection. It’s an orange jelly with huge circles of orange glitter. I simply adore it! Even though the glitter is large, even without a top coat this polish is smooth. It applied quite nicely and dried super quickly.

Ghost of a Chance is an opaque white creme with a hint of gray undertone. As with most white cremes, I had a bit of trouble getting the color consistent but it applied much better than most.

An inky black, Master of Disguise is patent leather shiny. Perfect for Halloween or any other time you’re feeling the love for a dark polish.

Taboo is what some people call a Burple- a cross between a blue and a purple. This color looks magical! There are super tiny flecks of purple that cause an iridescent glow in bright light. I’ll definitely be wearing this color throughout the year.

The Master of Disguise minis are available at some spas and online at Victoria Nail Supply for $4.95 for the set.
