| Looks Like A Paper Cup, But Its Not A Paper Cup Posted: 02 Oct 2009 04:47 PM PDT
Clever idea by designer James Burgess, he designed this fancy cup to look like a paper cup, but in fact it’s made out of porcelain and is totally reusable. The It’s Not A Paper Cup mug is white and big and when you take it to work everyone will talk, because it simply isn’t what it looks like. I love it! The reusable beverage cup is dishwasher and microwave safe, comes with a silicone lid, fits in most car cup holders, and because it’s double walled it will keep your beverages hot or cold. | ThredUP A Clothes Swapping Idea Similar To Netflix Posted: 02 Oct 2009 04:21 PM PDT
Have you heard of ThredUP, yet? It’s a clothes swapping website that facilitates the swapping of clothes with others locally or nationwide. The idea is simple really. Sign up as a free member, enter in the required registration information and then list what you have to trade. Others who are also signed-up will get matched with your clothes depending on what their specified preferences are. For example you list a white denim mini-skirt, someone else types in that they’re looking for a white mini-skirt. They’ll be matched with your listing, they then pay for some specialty envelopes and the items checked will automatically be sent to their home. Easy, low cost and possibly a great way to find some cool gently used clothing, ThredUP aims to make it easier than ever to swap clothes. via SpringWise Need Green Web Hosting? | Glass Nail Files, Keep Finger Nails Beautiful While Saving Waste And Cash Posted: 02 Oct 2009 11:21 AM PDT
We ladies love keeping our nails gorgeous, for some its one of the few luxuries we can truly indulge in. Long, short, clear polish or fire red, whatever your style in order for nails to look good, they first have to be in good shape. No cracked or ill shaped nail will do. First up is filing whether as weekly ritual or emergency filings, this is one quick and easy way to keep them in good shape. But do you use the disposable emery board nail file? Or do you opt for something abit more sustainable. If you opt for a glass nail file or a metal nail file, you will benefit in several ways.
So next time you’re at Walgreen’s, CVS, Sephora, Macy’s or wherever you shop, have a look at the available glass or metal nail files. You might snatch up a sweet permanent one to keep your nails looking their fabulous best. via Sephora Need Green Web Hosting? Check out our latest review of green web hosts. | Terra Cotta Pumice Stone Foot Scrubber, Great For Dry Skin Posted: 02 Oct 2009 11:02 AM PDT
Looking for an eco alternative to the traditional pumice stone? Give terra cotta a try. Terra cotta is a 100% natural stone and does not wear out like man-made pumice stones, this particular one is hand formed in India and essentially is a natural remedy for dry skin on your feet. Want soft silky skin on your feet? Of course, you do. Well this two-sided scrubber has a scrubby pumice like side for exfoliating away dead skin and then there’s the polisher side to smooth away skin, leaving it flake free. To give it a try, you can buy the terra cotta foot scrubber online at GildenTree. via Ideal Bite *not available via Keetsa Need Green Web Hosting? Check out our latest review of green web hosts. | Stella McCartney Animal-Friendly Fashion Line In Demand, More Than Ever Posted: 02 Oct 2009 10:22 AM PDT
image via InStyle Stella McCartney, daughter of (Beattle’s) Paul McCartney, finally gets a chance to celebrate her animal-free fashion line success. She has stayed true to her values by creating hugely popular shoes, bags and clothing made fur-free and leather-free. Apparently a challenge in the fashion industry. She signed up with Gucci to create and promote her cruelty-free fashion line in 2001, but it was a slow go and she did not make a profit till four years later in 2006. Wow! That’s really holding out. Glad to hear that Stella is doing well, but more importantly that DEMAND is up for her animal-friendly pieces. Kudos to Stella! (and Gucci) via Vegetarian Star Need Green Web Hosting? | LA Marler Eco Exhibition Brings Industry And Nature Together Posted: 01 Oct 2009 07:02 PM PDT
In a visually stunning series of photographs, an eco centric art gallery showcases the fossil-fuel heavy car industry juxtaposed with nature. The exhibit is meant to create awareness and get individuals talking about how our lifestyle choices affect climate change. It’s a thought provoking exhibit (aren’t they all) and the photos literally speak for themselves. There’s also a fascinating story behind each car image. To read that story and to view the haunting and melodic photography captured in the LA Marler images, go to the LA Marler website. via Eco Fabulous Need Green Web Hosting?
