Bionic becomes a Lipstick Queen

This was my first foray into the Lipstick Queen lip color line. I know at least a few of my readers love this brand, so I figured I had better give it a test ride.

Lipstick Queen Glossy Pencil in Chinatown Thriller

This is a big fat lip pencil that applies more like a gloss than a traditional lip pencil. It’s shiny, smooth, and moisturizing. The color can be super sheer or layer it on for a traditional red lip. This layering ability makes it perfect for multiple looks- you can toss it in your purse. For day one coat, for evening two to three coats will up your drama factor. I’m SO happy I found this pencil! It’s a definite rival to the infamous, and one of my personal faves, NARS pencils.

Comes packed with custom sharpener since this pencil is so chubby it won’t fit in your normal sharpeners. I’m absolutely sold on this pencil. I even chucked it in my hiking backpack on my recent vacation. Cause, you know… I wanna have pretty lips if I’m going to get gobbled up by a bear.

The Chinatown collection features 5 colors and they run $20 each at Lipstick Queen’s website.

The Fifteen Minutes of Fame lip color collection from Lipstick Queen has… 15 lip glosses! Who would’ve thought, right? Anyhow, they are your standard twist up glosses with a little “paint brush” tip. Personally, that’s not my favorite application method. It always takes me forever to pump enough gloss out, and then enough for 5 applications comes squirting out. But it’s popular, so either the makeup industry is sold on this method, or someone out there loves it much more than I do.

Application method aside, this gloss is pleasant. I got “4 minutes” which is a lovely nude cream. Not glimmer or shimmer. This gloss has absolutely NO stickiness, doesn’t wander and wears pretty darn well for a standard gloss. And I love the bright, pop arty box it comes packed in! I wish the tube itself was decorated in pop art. That would ROCK!

The 15 Minutes of Fame gloss collection is available online at Lipstick Queen’s website for $18 each.

All in all, I’m very happy I ventured out to review Lipstick Queen. In particular, their Glossy Pencils are winners. They’ve certainly got the Bionic seal of approval!
