| Review: Cargo gives you a time out on lip gloss Posted: 17 Sep 2009 10:55 AM PDT Cargo’s Classic lipgloss got a packaging upgrade. Ever wonder if your lipgloss has gone bad? Well, Cargo has tried to take out the guess work. When you open your new lipgloss, you pop this little card into the top and it starts counting down to 9 months. It’s called “TimeStrip Technology”. Apparently that’s how long lip gloss lasts in their opinion. Bionic Beauty review - Cargo Classic lip gloss in Whistler Do you know anyone who throws away a $20+ lip gloss after 9 months? I really don’t. I know my makeup case has about 30 glosses that are all between 2-3 years old. I do purge occasionally, and I certainly check for funky smells, separation or changes in color. And I never keep them longer than 3 years (and I pitch after a bad cold). Cargo adds an expiration date reminder to their packaging! As for the lipgloss itself, my color is Whistler, this color is splendid for ladies who like lighter lip looks. It’s a flattering peach with silvery shimmer. It’s beautifully shiny without any hint of sticky. It’s eerily similar to Three Custom Color’s supremely popular gloss shade “Whisper”… even in name. I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence or if these two glosses are direct competitors. Anyhow, the lip gloss is lovely. The gimmicky “time card” I could do without- and I certainly don’t want to pay extra for it. Cargo Classic lip glosses are available at Beauty.com for $22 What are you thoughts? Do you pitch your lip colors after 9 months? After a year? Or at other intervals? Copyright © 2009 by Bionic Beauty™. Please do not copy or republish without permission.
