Ford Implements New PC Power Management System

Posted: 31 Mar 2010 12:50 AM PDT

All businesses are being called to do something eco-friendly and Ford is committed to do so. In fact, if this new PC Power Management System does push through, Ford will be able to save $1.2 million annually on power costs alone and reduce its carbon footprint by an estimated 16,000 to 25,000 metric tons annually.

The new program will centrally control the power settings on Windows laptops and desktop PCs to enable a managed shutdown of computer systems not in use, especially overnight and on weekends. PC Power Management is being rolled out to Ford computer users across the U.S. this month. It will be migrated to Ford operations around the world later in the year.

RCA Energy aka AirPower Surfaces

Posted: 31 Mar 2010 12:49 AM PDT

The Airnergy WiFi power harvester came out during the CES 2010 and is now out sporting a new design. This is a device that helps recharge your gadgets using thin air and will now be known as the AirPower. While that has been settled, no details on this device has been bared for now making you wonder what technology is really behind it.

The AirPower is scheduled to come out later on during the Holidays and the pricing has been altered. Originally priced at $40, you just have to wait how much it will really cost by the Christmas season. Bummer!

Product Review: KQC Professional Mini flat iron

Posted: 31 Mar 2010 06:35 AM PDT

When it comes to choosing a flat iron, the choices are positively overwhelming. If a flat iron isn’t Babyliss or CHI it must not work, right? Let’s face it, some people are styling-tool snobs.

I’m a “more adventurous” type and I can say I have tried flat irons by both those big-name brands and they don’t stack up to my Hana or my KQC. My KQC is the Professional Mini X-Heat Ceramic iron. And when they say mini, they mean it! The flat iron measures a whopping 6.5 inches from tip to tip, making it perfect for stashing in your purse or desk drawer.

The Bionic Beauty blog reviews KQC Professional Mini X-Heat Ceramic hair styling flat iron.

Bionic's KQC Mini pro flat iron

This little powerhouse heats up fast!

Even though it’s so small, it didn’t take much longer than normal to iron my shoulder length hair. I just sectioned it into smaller pieces. There is no temperature adjustment dial, but even without it the iron didn’t seem to overheat my hair. The barrels are slightly curved, which makes this iron even better for packing- you can curl or flatten in one!

The KQC Mini works on standard worldwide voltages (110, 120, 220, 240V). Overall this is a great mini travel iron. My only minor drawback is that I wish it came with a carry case for packing.

FlatIronExperts.com has the KQC Pro Mini X-Heat Ceramic flat iron for $39.95. Plus, as a special bonus, Bionic Beauty readers can enter the coupon code BIONIC5 at checkout and get 5% off your entire order!
