Bionic Asks: What’s your favorite lip product?

Posted: 30 Sep 2009 08:22 AM PDT

Bionic Beauty Asks - Makeup and beauty question blog article series

This week's Bionic Asks Is brought to you by Bionic Bronnie. “What is your favorite lip product and why?”

I have been searching for “The Perfect One”… Lipstain, lip plumper, lip pencil, lipstick, lip gloss?

That lead me to the root of the issue…which works the best? I don’t like products that dry out my lips and I like products that last. I mean really LAST. I don’t want my lipstick to vanish mid-dinner on a romantic evening… or to even worry about it.

So then comes the beginning of my personal solution, I believe it’s a matter of which products are a must in the lip arsenal. I use YBF Quench ($15) about six times a day- to keep my lips healthy, moisturized and hopefully from aging (don’t miss Bionic Beauty’s review of YBF Quench).

YBF Quench lip treatment balm

Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick in Catwalk Mauve 680Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick Catwalk Mauve - Bionic Bronnie favorite lip product ($26) is the perfect, moisturizing and softening product….I would be lost without it.

Dior Creme De GlossDior Creme De Gloss lip gloss - Bionic Beauty Bronnie favorite lip product ($25.50) is also very nice and has an incredible color selection I love Beige Elixir 611 – it’s gorgeous!.

And then… I tried Estee Lauder’s new Double Wear Stay-in-Place Lip DuoEstee Lauder's new Double Wear Stay-in-Place Lip Duo - Bionic Beauty favorite lip product ($24, in a huge variety of colors). Wow, that is the icing on the cake! It’s a gorgeous soft stain, highly pigmented. It takes a minute to dry, then the other end is a nice is a shimmery gloss that adds shine; but not quite enough moisture. It makes beautiful edges- no bleeding, so I can skip the pencil liner.

So, I use YBF Quench for healthy lips; I apply Estee Double Wear stain, let it dry and smooth it with one of my aforementioned Dior’s for the perfect color delivery. If I’m not “going out” I may just use Doublewear then top it off with Quench for nice moisture.

There are more products out there than one could possibly test, so please share your best kept lip secrets, finds and magical combinations. Don’t forget to mention your desired outcome. My goal is longevity, high pigmentation, and nice soft moisture.
